ABOUT THE BOOK: There is an enormous demand for practical books besides the theoretical books in Zoology because no science can be complete without practical studies. The current practical syllabus of Zoology has been framed in all Universities of West Bengal as well as at the national level. These syllabi include classical Zoology as well as applications of various modern techniques in the subject, which is useful in studying the subject thoroughly. As there are no such books that cover different modern methods and practical studies widely used in Histochemistry, Physiology, Haematology, Biochemistry, Histology, Embryology, Cytology and Genetics, Parasitology and Microbiology, Osteology, Ecology, Ethology & toxicology, Biostatistics, Economic Zoology, Biological instrumentation, and Field Training. Further, the book also has a very informative Appendix that includes, preparation of general reagents & fixatives, SI units, simple solutions & dilutions, pH indicators and concentration of acid & bases, fixatives, stains & buffers, laboratory safety guidelines, statistical tables, etc. We thought to prepare such a book for students, scholars and teachers as well as for those people who have scientific aptitude and interest for the subject.
