ABOUT THE AUTHOR:  Dr. Ajoy Paul has been the Professor-in-Charge at Chakdaha College, affiliated to the University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India and teaching there as an Associate Professor since 1981. He has started his research work in Immunology and earned his Ph.D. in Cytogenetics at the Department of Zoology from the University of Kalyani in 1994. Dr. Paul always has a keen interest in teaching as well as research. Over the years, he has taught courses in general zoology, immunology, molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics and microbiology. He has published a number of research papers and articles in many journals and delivered lectures in seminars. He has been elected to Fellowships in the International Congress of Chemistry and Environment, International Society of Biotechnology and Zoological Society of Eastern India. Besides this book, he is also the author of “Textbook of Cell and Molecular Biology” and “Textbook of Genetics: From genes to genomes” and also five other textbooks on Environmental studies for under-graduate courses of Indian Universities.
