ABOUT THE BOOK: “Differential Equations” is designed primarily to serve as a textbook for undergraduate students in various programs in science and engineering. The book discusses the basic concepts of ordinary and partial differential equations. It contains different methods of solving ordinary differential equations of first-order and higher degree and their applications. It presents the solution methodology for linear differential equations with constant and variable coefficients. The text elaborates the theory of linear systems, simultaneous linear differential equations, total differential equations, eigenvalue problem, and series solution of second order linear differential equations about ordinary and regular singular point. This book also provides the methods of solving partial differential equations of both first and second order. Laplace transform and its application to both ordinary and partial differential equations are also discussed. A large number of solved examples, as well as exercises at the end of each chapter, help the students comprehend and strengthen the underlying concepts.
