ABOUT THE BOOK:  The Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of Zoology, Botany, Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Physiology, Biophysics, and Biotechnology. It is a comprehensive textbook written in a lucid style and pointwise manner presenting the subject-matter from the basic elementary information to the most recent advances. This book has an engaging format where the theoretical discussion at each step is supplemented by lively illustrations, numerous colour diagrams, flowcharts, and tables, along with chapter-glossary / key terms at the end of each chapter.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Ajoy Paul is the retired Professor-in-Charge of Chakdaha College, affiliated to University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India, and taught there as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Zoology since 1981. After obtaining his M.Sc. degree in Zoology in the year 1976, he has started his research work in Immunology and earned his Ph.D. in Cytogenetics at the Department of Zoology from the University of Kalyani, India in 1994. Dr. Paul always has a keen interest in teaching, research, research paper publication, and writing textbooks in the field of different subjects of biological Sciences. Over the years, he has taught courses in general Zoology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, and Microbiology. He has published a number of research papers in many journals and delivered lectures in the seminars. He has been elected to Fellowships in the International Congress of Chemistry and Environment, International Society of Biotechnology, and also Zoological Society of Eastern India. Besides this book, he is also the author of “Textbook of Cell and Molecular Biology”, ”Textbook of Genetics”, ”Textbook of Genetics: From Genes to Genomes” and “Textbook of Immunology – including Immunotechnology & Immunotherapy” and also five other textbooks on Environmental studies for undergraduate courses of Indian Universities.
