ABOUT THE BOOK: This book, Bioinorganic Chemistry, covers the different aspects of the subject as per the recommendations of UGC (2002) for the B.Sc. and M.Sc. Courses in chemistry. In presenting the subject, the basic concepts of chemistry have been stressed for better understanding. The book is also prepared to meet the needs of competitive examinations like NET, SLET, GATE, etc. It also covers the new CBCS syllabus.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
Dr. Asim K. Das, B.Sc. (Hons.)(1st Class 1st, CU), M.Sc. (1st Class 1st, Gold Medalist, CU), Ph.D. (CU), D.Sc. (Visva Bharati) is now a Professor of Chemistry, Visva Bharati, Santiniketan. He has over 25 years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He passed both the B.Sc. (Hons. in Chemistry) in 1981 and M.Sc. (specialization in Inorganic Chemistry) in 1983, standing First Class First, from the University of Calcutta. He received his Ph.D. degree from the same University under the supervision of Prof. D. Banerjee, the then Sir Rashbehari Ghose Professor of Chemistry. He received his D.Sc. degree from Visva Bharati in 2002. Dr. Das has published more than 80 research papers in the field of thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of metal complexes in reputed national and international journals. He has authored the books, Fundamental Concepts of Inorganic Chemistry (Vols.1-7), Bioinorganic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry with Green Chemistry, An Introduction to Supramolecular Chemistry, and An Introduction to Nanomaterials and Nanoscience.
Dr. Mahua Das, M.Sc. (CU), Ph.D. (Visva Bharati), was a Research Fellow and a Research Associate in the Department of Chemistry, Visva Bharati. She did both her doctoral and postdoctoral research work in the field of thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of metal complexes, and she has published about 25 research papers in different reputed national and international journals of chemistry. She has also co-authored several books.
