ABOUT THE BOOK: To incorporate the contents of the combined CBCS syllabus of UGC in Molecular Biology and Genetics, each chapter has been designed to cover the syllabi-wise discussion in a brief and scientific way, accompanied with relevant diagrams which are prim and scientific. Each chapter is followed by a set of short, broad, and MCQ questions following the trend of most Universities and competitive examinations. The book also contains a glossary that would help the students to find answers to the short questions quickly. Thus, it is a complete book for academic purposes as well as can serve as a help book for the aspirant examinees of competitive examinations.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Aminul Islam obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Burdwan in 1983. In 1983, he joined as a full-time Lecturer in Zoology at K.C. College, Hetampur, W.B. From 1984 he has been writing books on Zoology in Bengali covering syllabi of all the universities of W.B. In 2003, he had an assignment to visit USA as a Visiting Scientist and carried out post-doctoral research works on Molecular Characterization of Esophageal Cancer in VA Medical Centre, Kansas, under Prof. Dr. S. Banerjee and Dr. A.P. Weston. During his tenure at PDF, he attended an International Symposium in Orlando, Florida (USA). He came back in 2004 to join his previous service at K.C. College. In 2011, he authored a book, Essentials of Cell Biology which was revised in 2014 and 2018 and another book, Essentials of Non-Chordates and Chordates was published in 2020 both by Books & Allied (P) Ltd. On 31.03.2016 he retired from service as TIC of K.C. College. On 25th July, 2016, he joined as HOD, Biological Sciences at Aliah University. He remained in this position up to 28th February, 2018.
