ABOUT THE BOOK: In 2011, this book was first published as A Textbook of Cell Biology. It was revised in 2014 and 2018. This edition aims to incorporate the contents of the combined CBCS syllabus of UGC. Each chapter has been designed to cover syllabi-wise answers in a brief and scientific way accompanied with relevant diagrams. Most of the diagrams are drawn by the author himself so that they can be prim and scientific. Each chapter is followed by a set of short, broad, and MCQ questions following the trend of most of the Universities and competitive examinations. The book also contains a glossary that would help the students to find answers to the short questions. Therefore it is a complete book of academic as well as help book for the aspirant examinees for competitive examinations.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Aminul Islam obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Burdwan in 1983. In 1983 he joined as a full-time Lecturer in Zoology in K. C. College, Hetampur, W.B. From 1984 he has been writing books on Zoology in Bengali covering syllabi of all the universities of W.B. In 2003, he had an assignment to visit USA as a Visiting Scientist and carried out post-doctoral research works on Molecular Characterization of Esophageal Cancer in VA Medical Centre, Kansas, under Dr. S. Banerjee and Dr. A. P. Weston. During his tenure of PDF, he attended an International Symposium in Orlando, Florida (USA). He came back in 2004 to join his previous service at K. C. College. In 2011, he wrote a book on Cell Biology which has been revised in 2014 and 2018. On 31. 03. 2016 he retired from service as TIC of that college. On 25th July 2016, he joined as HOD, Biological Sciences in the Aliah University. He remained in this position up to 28th February 2018.
