ABOUT THE BOOK: This book has been written to serve both beginners and advanced students interested in the field of Mycology and Plant Pathology in India and abroad. The book covers basic theoretical knowledge and almost all practical aspects and techniques, including advanced molecular approaches in Mycology and Plant Pathology experiments. The speciality of this book is that it contains all the relevant information of the subject in a concise and informative manner, covering the syllabi of both undergraduate and postgraduate studies of major universities of India, including West Bengal. Further, the book is able to provide concepts and lab techniques required to conduct higher studies and research works in the field of Mycology and Plant Pathology. The detailed workout and spot identification of various fungal and plant pathogenic specimens with hand-drawn figures are very useful for students to identify them at a glance. Some useful information with coloured photographs have been provided in Appendices at the end of the book.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS:

Dr. Akash Kedia is presently serving as the Head and Assistant Professor of Botany at Govt. General Degree College Mangalkote, Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal, India. He completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University in Botany with specialisation in Plant Pathology and Plant Protection. He has also served at P.G. Dept. of Botany at Hooghly Mohsin College. Dr. Kedia has teaching and research experience of about 10 years at UG and PG (Mycology and Plant Pathology special paper) levels. Dr. Kedia has published 38 research articles in journals and edited books of National and International repute.

Dr. Subrata Mitra is presently serving as Associate Professor and was the former Head at P.G. Dept. of Botany, Hooghly Mohsin College, Chinsurah, West Bengal, India. He copmpleted his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from The University of Burdwan in Botany with specialisation in Mycology and Plant Pathology. He has also served at Department of Botany, Taki Government College and P.G. Dept. of Botany at Darjeeling Government College. Dr. Mitra has vast teaching and research experience of more than 24 years at UG and PG (Mycology and Plant Pathology special paper) levels. Dr. Mitra has published 18 research articles in journals and edited books of National and International repute.
