ABOUT THE BOOK:

- This book on Human Anatomy meets all the requirements of medical students, which would cover practical anatomy, general anatomy, gross anatomy, developmental anatomy, neuroanatomy, clinical anatomy, surface anatomy, and radiological anatomy including magnetic resonance images. This book meets all these requirements.
- Photographs of dissected specimens and sections of the body fulfill the need for an atlas of Anatomy. Sectional anatomy will help the students in understanding the three-dimensional anatomy, which is very important to interpret CT scans, MRI, and Sonograms. Photographs of dissected specimens will convey actual relations of different structures to the students. This will help in creating a visual memory rather than a verbal memory in understanding anatomical facts.
- The book emphasizes on regional anatomy instead of systemic anatomy. Regional anatomy combined with dissection of that particular part would give a comprehensive idea of that area, which is very important to a surgeon.
- The sequence of dissection is modified and is arranged in such a manner that once the
dissection of a region is started, it does not remain exposed for a long period. Steps of
dissection are followed by a description of structures of that area. This will give students a
better understanding of Anatomy.
- Instead of describing individual carpals and tarsals, the skeletons of the hand and foot are described as a whole. Most of the statements made in the text are supported by photographs of dissected specimens, line-drawn figures, radiographs, and magnetic resonance images. This will make it easy for the students in understanding Anatomy rather than memorize it.
- Clinical anatomy is the application of anatomical knowledge to practical problems in clinical situations. Emphasis has been given to clinical anatomy so that the student can appreciate various pathological conditions and deformities in relation to body structures.
- This book is the first of three volumes of the series of Anatomy: General Anatomy, Upper and Lower Limbs.
- Each volume of Anatomy has Tables, Case Studies, and Multiple Choice Questions.
