ABOUT THE BOOK: This compact and accessible book offers a comprehensive introduction to Population Geography and provides a geographical account of population attributes in the world, with a particular focus on India. The books studies the major components of population change viz, fertility, mortality, and migration; the spatial and temporal processes that fashion them, the resultant problems, and remedial policies. The demographic and economic characteristics of population viz composition and occupational structure along with topics such as size, distribution, and growth of population The major theories of population growth and migration as well as population policies and population-environment interrelations. This edition has been supplemented with a chapter that studies the causes and consequences of pandemic on the population. 

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. Debjani Roy, is the Head of the Postgraduate Department of Geography, Nirmala College, Ranchi University, Ranchi. She has done her graduation in Geography from Lady Brabourne College, Calcutta, and her Masters and Ph.D. from Calcutta University. She has more than 21 years of experience in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. She has authored two reference books viz Population Geography for final year graduate students and “Geography of Jharkhand – Land, Economy, and People" as per CBCS syllabus. She has also edited two books viz. Development and Conflict and Environmental Degradation Challenges and Remedies.
